We are busy decorating the Inn for the holidays. By Christmas the lake should be frozen over and in a few more weeks we’ll be cross-country skiing! We are here year-round and welcome visitors to enjoy a good old fashion Maine winter.

My move to Alamoosook Lake was the fulfillment of a lifetime dream to live on a lake. I came here in August of 2001 from the Washington DC area. I had lived there for almost 22 years. I am an environmental scientist by training and was working for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prior to my departure. A large metropolitan area was never a good fit for me. So when my daughter went off to college I started my search for “home.” It took me two years to find The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn. I knew it was home the moment I saw it. So I quit my job and off to my new life I went. I have never regretted my move. Every day I get to hear the loons call and watch the eagles soar. I have gotten involved in local environmental protection efforts and feel that I am still utilizing my professional training and making a tangible contribution to protecting this beautiful area. Being an Innkeeper has given me the opportunity to meet so many fascinating people from literally all over the world. I can’t think of a better choice for a new beginning.
